| It all started with a simple question: "What would it cost me to fly the P-40?". I put the question to my long term friend and Naval cadet roommate, Dick Spears. I knew that Dick was a partner in the reconstruction of a P-40N with his friend John Fallis. They had started their project in 1998 in Lafayette, Louisiana, and the airplane had been flying since they finished its restoration in 2008.
