No, that's not a typo, just a nod to the namesake of a one-time airbase in Columbus,
Indiana. Nowadays, the site of the airbase is the Columbus Municipal Airport (KBAK).
KBAK is worth the visit, as is the city of Columbus, Indiana. A major industrial city in
southern Indiana, at the confluence of the Driftwood, Flatrock, and White Rivers, there
is plenty to do in Columbus. One of the benefits to flying in for a visit is the
Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum, which has free admission, is a short walk from the FBO,
and will tell you all about what was happening in Columbus "back in the day." Read more…
