Down a narrow road, over a highway, past some fields, and through some trees there lies a
quaint airport at the base of the Blue Mountain ridge. On the day of the trip, it came
rising out of the mist like the fabled Brigadoon of the Lerner and Loewe musical. The
Golden Age Air Museum was due to have a big event; a fly-in with live orchestral music.
Sadly, the dregs of Hurricane Helene put a stop to the show. In spite of the inclement
weather, the museum was open for business and well worth the visit. Coming into view
through the mists of the Appalachian Mountains, this airfield also came into view
