An Indelible Mark |

Over in Ohio there is a small museum that tells the story of a bygone era, or so it would seem. Like most museums, the Ernie Hall Aviation Museum has a collection of documents and artifacts from the early years of aviation. The museum is housed mostly in a little arched roof hangar sitting along a grass strip just a stone's throw from the Youngstown/Warren Regional airport (KYNG). The museum hangar itself is a nod to history, as a replica of the hangar that once housed the Hall Flying School. The artifacts, aircraft, and hangar are not, however, simply a snapshot of a moment in time long ago. Instead, they tell the story of Ernie Hall and how one man influenced generations of aviators from the birth of heavier than air flight through several wars and into the modern era of commercial flight. The museum tells the story of how one man left his indelible mark on the history of Ohio, in the logbooks of many people, and on the hearts of many more. Read more…
