Now, some purists don't feel radio control model aircraft is "real flying." Many disagree. Flying radio control models requires knowledge of flight, knowledge of the weather, airmanship skills, coordination and patience. Many rc pilots either are, or were, 'real' pilots. It's every bit as challenging as flying full size aircraft and it's as much fun. It CAN also be cheaper but it can also be VERY expensive with some large scale models costing thousands and tens of thousands of dollars, especially when you get into huge model jet airliners that are outfitted with turbine/jet engines which can run thousands of dollars....
