As B-25 production continued, the B-25C made its appearance, an improvement over the B-25B with the more powerful Wright R-2600-13, air-cooled radial engines fitted to the aeroplane offering an increase in power. It was also sporting 2 - .50 calibre machine guns, one being a fixed weapon and the other being trainable. The B-25C was also outfitted with anti-icing equipment, allowing it to operate in colder climates. The "C" model proved popular and more than 1600 of the type were built.
