Perhaps it's just sentimentality, but the colloquialism "that's a sight for sore eyes" seemed very fitting recently. After nearly a year in hiatus, the local EAA chapter was back in action with a Fly-in/Drive-in dinner and fundraiser. Seeing several familiar faces, a few familiar airplanes, some familiar hotrods, and all of these at a familiar airport was a pleasing way to spend a Saturday afternoon. With the lengthy time away, perhaps that other popular expression is just as fitting, "absence makes the heart grow fonder." But for those of us who enjoy airplane and automobile projects and sharing our hobbies with like-minded people, this was like a homecoming. Read more…
