Out on the shores of Lake Erie there's a riveting tale being written in vast quantities of aluminum, the sweat equity of many volunteers, and, well, rivets...lots of rivets. Marblehead Peninsula is home to Port Clinton, the Erie-Ottawa International Airport (formerly Port Clinton Municipal Airport), and the Liberty Aviation Museum. In one corner of the Liberty Aviation Museum, there is a workshop where our tale is playing out. A modest organization is breathing life into a 92 year old aircraft, reviving some local history in the process and bringing back the livery of the Island Airlines with an original Tri-Islander.
