Visiting the Arizona Flying Circus
Stephen Bass and Dennis McLain, Contributing Writers & Photographers
MoTown, Arizona

The 18th Annual Motown Flying Circus was recently held February 11-14, 2021.

If you like the desert, lots of activities, things that fly and evening bonfires, you will love The Arizona Flying Circus which was held at Motown (5AZ6) southwest of the Town of Maricopa, AZ and about 30 miles south of Phoenix.

PPGs (Powered Paragliders) are fast becoming one of the most popular ways to get off the ground!
Multiple aircraft representing several different types were present.
Activities included the bowling ball cannon bingo and a shooting range.
Saturday evening was capped with live music and awesome fireworks.

The Arizona Flying Circus has become the local non-airshow airshow as it features multiple events throughout each day including a shooting range, bowling ball cannon bingo, and planned activities for the kids.

Saturday evening featured live music, fireside conversation, an awesome B-B-Q and after the sun goes down a beautiful fireworks display. The Arizona Flying Circus is also pet friendly and an all volunteer effort.

There is GA camping if you want to sleep next to your aircraft, plus tent and RV camping.

According to Mo Sheldon, the creator of the event, this year was the largest Flying Circus to date. Mo is also a noted Powered Paraglider (PPG) instructor as well as the owner of his own company (Airparamo www.airparamo.com) that designs and builds PPGs. Mo is also a well known and respected PPG instructor for both footlaunch as well as trike PPGs.
